Cow Power

Superstars put on an inquiry of the Manawatu 2004 floods. Part of rooms 3's investigation of the floods was to re-enact a scene from a diary farm which got flooded and a cow called 569 saved the owner of that diary farm. Room 3 danced the cow cow to the music 'green river' and we did the wibble wobble to 'taking care of business'. The whole production was very mooooooving!!

Weet-bix Triathlon

Hi and my name is McKenzie Stewart and i entered in the Weet-bix Triathlon on the 24 March at the Lido swimming pool. What we had to do was swim 2 lengths of the outside pool and do 4km biking around the streets of the Lido and then run 1.5km of Omgly park. I came 7th place and Bridght came 5th. We all got medals and some people got prizes.

Girl Guides

Hi my name is Dayna and I am in Guides.We have been on camps and put up tents.We have lots of activities to do like fire making and cooking.We have also been selling guide biscuits.

Phew Term2

It will be a full on term with constable Philby visiting and taking us fore the D.A.R.E drug abuse resistance education programme. This will run for 5 weeks.For Inquiry we are into Disasters.We are making a movie rap with our buddy class in Room9 and Winter sports training starts in the first week.

I made a air powerd drag racer at home and this is how I made it. first I had to make sure I had a empty fizzy bottle, four plastic weels, two long metel rods and a thin shortmetel rod, a red but short plastic tube about 1 and half inchs long, a nozzle, under carrige, a pin, a set of maches/lighter, some red tape and a bike pump. Secondly I got one of the long metel rodsand tapedit on the end of the under carrige with two small bits of tape and I did the same on the other end and then I had two long bits of tape so I then taped the under carrige to the bottle they were both taped on the big part. thirdly I got my lighter/matches and heated the small metel rod until it was red and then I melted a small hole just big enough for a pin to fit in and ater the hole has cooled down put the pin in. forthly cut a hole in the lid so the nozzel can fit in tightly and screw on tightly. fithly I cut the tube into 8 pices then I put 1 pice on each end and then I put a weel on each end thenI did the same with the other 4 pices of tube. (If you have some oil put it on the weels so they spin faster).

Super Stars swimming races.

On Thursday all of super stars met outside of room 6 to talk about what was going to happen.When we got to the Freyberg swimming pools everyone sat with their class and waited for Miss Jeffries to call out the first group and to go to the starting line.There were some swimming lenghts some swimming widths and some walking the length of the toddler pool.After all the races there were the class realys Room 13 won the 3x3 race while Room 3 won the 4x4.
Room 13 won the banner challenge!!

Room 3 Update

We visit our school library regularly and we can take these books home for a week.Also Sue at the Roslyn village gets to see us every fortnight.
Conferences are on this Tuesday and Wednesday and the children have contributed a lot to their reports.They have been typing up Myself As A Learner.They will share what they have been learning with Mum and Dad on those nights.
Our fitness is improving and Mr A can Zoom us down to the pools in 10 minutes.We also have a street run,fitness circuits jumpjam and skipping on a Friday.
Lots of Room 3 are taking the opportunity toplay sports for our school,play musical instruments,go to choir or kapa haka so good on them.

Can't wait for swimming this week.Will put all children in 4 abilities groups like the Tadpoles, Snappers, Barracudas and Sharks.We are also keeping fit with our runs,jumpjam andfitness circuits.Roll on the school triathalon.
